Happy New Year Everyone!

Here is hoping this will be the best year yet for us all!
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and new year celebrations, and we here at Sorcerers Safari Magic Camp wish you all the best for 2009.

Sorry we have been out of touch for the last few weeks, but it has been a busy little time for us. 3 weeks away in Malaysia and Hong Kong will do that.....

Murray Hatfield’s tour once again came across Canada, and we hope most of you had the opportunity to see it.  We always really enjoy the show Murray and Teresa put together, and this year was no exception. Great to see Sean Bogunia, Chipper Lowell and Oscar Munoz again. Once again, Murray and company did an outstanding job.  No surprise there!  Murray and Teresa will also be at the upcoming MagiFest convention in Ohio. More on that below...

As well, touring through Canada around the same time was our own Dick Joiner with The Shrine Fantasy Show, which was also a great time.  We hope you had the opportunity to see this show, too. Mike hosted the tour last year and had a blast. Dick had some guests that are a large part of our camp family this year too…..Marc Chalmers, Craig Douglas, Johnny Toronto, Nathaniel Rankin, Madame Buskerfly (Kristi Heath) and Sheldon Casavant.

In just a few weeks we are off to Magifest in Ohio.  There are a number of camp folk attending this year. If you have any interest in attending, I know there are a few campers and staff looking to carpool and share rooms. Let us know, and we can try and set you up together. This is a great convention, and you really will know so many there.  They have a great line up of special guests.  To name a few…. Aaron Fisher, Murray Hatfield and Teresa, Shawn Farquhar, Tyler Wilson and we’ll be awarding another scholarship in memory of Josh Jay’s dad.  Here is the site for MagiFest:

Finally, but most certainly not least, as we are starting the new year we really need to get a feel for the attendance for our March Break camp.
The host camp for Sorcerers Safari March Break is Lake St. George Conservation Field Centre (same as last year!). It is situated on a beautiful kettle lake on the Oak Ridges Moraine. Here is a link to their website so you can have an idea of what the location is like.  You should watch the Powerpoint Presentation to see photo's of the grounds.

We held our last March camp there and really enjoyed the location and their wonderful staff.  We have started receiving registrations, (which are on our site now, thanks Marc and Lee) but we really need to have a better idea of numbers.  Last year we had our 2nd largest group.  What about this year???  So who is planning on coming along this year for March? Please let us know ASAP.

Also, let us know if there is any news you want to share with the camp, or shows you are doing. Keep in mind, too that we are ALWAYS on the lookout for performers of any age. So, if you feel you have an act that is ready to be seen by the public, let us know and we can try to include you in our shows.

Please keep in touch, we love hearing from you all. Don’t forget to keep checking Youtube and our website for the new photos and videos from last summer.

Here’s to the best year yet!!

2009 is going to ROCK!!!

Mike, Jen and the entire Sorcerers Safari Team
